ABOUT
ONCE UPON A TIME
THE START OF
CROSBY COLLECTIVE

LATE 2017
A group of us sat in a weekly coffee morning and wondered what we could achieve if we only had a space to work from and collaborate with others.
EARLY 2018
We set up a pop-up co-working space in the Crosby One centre to see what people thought of the concept.

EARLY 2019
We tried another concept space above Mama Roxsam on the high street. We converted their upstairs space into a meeting room and training space. We ran digital innovation and marketing workshops in the evenings.
EARLY 2020
We secured funding from the Community Led Local Development (CLLD) programme and started work on developing Park Library into our first space.

LATE 2020
We launched our new space

OUR MISSION
We seek to become part of the community and to put relationship and connection at the heart of all that we do.

OUR VISION
We want to see spaces like this being created all over Scunthorpe to support the growing number of people choosing to try something new.

OUR VALUES
We have the passion to include and a desire to treat people equally, respecting differences. We are committed to healthy, open relationships and have a deep sense of hope that things can change and be transformed.
COMING TOGETHER
CREATING UPLIFTING EXPERIENCES
The Crosby Collective was developed by Oasis Hub Henderson Avenue and made possible by funding from the Big Lottery Fund and Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Fund. Oasis is fluid in nature, meaning that whilst there is a definite goal, how we get there is flexible. We’re not about hierarchy; we believe that people coming together to create uplifting businesses, spaces and experiences to benefit the community should be valued, enabled and embraced.
The Crosby Collective started in 2018 with a conceptual co-working space at Crosby One Centre. In late 2020 we launch a space where members have exclusive access to the first co-working/makerspace in North Lincolnshire.

WHAT IS A MAKERSPACE?
A makerspace is a physical location where people gather to co-create, share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network and build. They help people develop their skills and creativity. Their activity promotes the development of knowledge needed for prosperity and social mobility.
